ProLogis Global Headquarters

This 89,000 sf, five-story (107 feet) precast structure serves as the global headquarters for ProLogis. This facility offers employees a fitness center, outdoor walking path and a cafeteria. State-of-the-art conference facilities and technology were incorporated throughout the building. This project achieved LEED Certification.

Pradera at Pinery West

The Pradera Clubhouse is a 25,700 s.f., 2-story building located in Parker, Colorado. The facility includes a full service kitchen, restaurant, lounge, bar, golf shop, administration areas, men’s and women’s locker room and a fitness center.

The structure is cast in place with precast hollow core planks providing the second floor structure. The exterior skin is a combination of brick, cultured stone and plaster and the roof is concrete tile with metal barrel vault roof accents. The interior of the facility is a combination of cultured stone, plaster, timbers, ornamental iron and architectural wood work.  This project also contains 5 fireplaces, 150-space parking lot, tennis courts, bag drop structure, outdoor terraces and an event lawn.

Saunders also simultaneously completed Pradera’s new golf course maintenance building and community center and pool. All three facilities opened in Spring 2005.

Lone Tree Recreation Center

This 54,300 s.f. recreation center was completed in March 2004.  Located within the South Suburban Recreation District at Lincoln Avenue and I-25, the facility includes a full-sized gymnasium, leisure pool, lap swim pool, water slide, multi-purpose area, stage, racquetball courts, and aerobics room.  The building also includes a 5,300 s.f. mezzanine used primarily as an indoor running track.

The structure is steel frame with load bearing structural masonry around the gymnasium.  The exterior skin of the building includes masonry, EIFS, and storefront and curtain glazing systems.

Broomfield Event Center

As the anchor for the 215-acre multi-use development, Arista, the Broomfield Event Center will host concerts, trade shows, rodeos and other community functions as well as athletic events.  At 180,000 s.f., the facility will include 6,000 seats, 25 suites, 900 club seats, a 200-seat restaurant, two club lounges and a separate basketball facility.

This venue will be home to two professional minor league sports teams; the Rocky Mountain Rage of the Central Hockey League and the Colorado 14ers of the Continental Basketball Association.

Construction for this state-of-the-art facility began in October 2005.  The site also includes a 1,500 space parking garage which we are building concurrently with the Event Center and both facilities are on schedule to open Fall 2006.

Apex Recreation Center

At 168,000 s.f., this new indoor water theme park and family center displays a new adventure look for recreation centers.  The innovative concepts for the structural steel, glass, precast and brick veneer are carried throughout the facility.  An “old mining town” theme and interactive water play system are integrated into the aquatic area. There are two separate NHL size ice arenas, two gymnasiums, an aerobics room, climbing wall, cafe-bar area and a soft-play children’s room with an interactive treehouse. At a cost of $22.7 million, the facility is the largest recreation district owned center in the country.

SuperTarget Southwest Plaza

Construction began by demolishing an existing Target store to be replaced with a new 205,000 s.f.  Target Superstore.

The new store construction was started prior to the demolition of the existing store to try to maximize the length of the construction schedule. The new store was founded on caissons with precast bearing on the caissons.

The entire perimeter of the store has a 7′- 0″ red brick wainscot with either texture painted precast or EIFS above. The top of the precast has an EIFS cornice piece all the way around the building. Above the cornice a sloped roof /mansard has a blend of Spanish concrete tile to give the building a Spanish mission look.

The site work and landscaping on the 11 acre site was very challenging as the surrounding shops, 6 story building and a bank had to remain open at all times.  The sitework was divided into at least 10 different phases each of which had to be completed before the next could start.

Extensive re-working of the fire/water service had to be completed prior to the start of the building construction and involved work in all the surrounding streets and neighborhoods.

KeyBank

The KeyBank projects consist of five (5) stand alone buildings, each 2,760 s.f., and totaling over $4 million.

Every facility is scheduled to be constructed in 4 1/2 months.  High-end finishes throughout each bank include four (4) teller stations, restrooms, an employee lounge, a conference room, three (3) financial work stations, and three (3) drive up teller/ATM stalls.  Saunders has constructed 50% of the new KeyBank branch projects in Colorado for 2003 and is scheduled to start two (2) additional locations by the end of the year.

In addition to the stand alone projects, Saunders has completed several bank T.I. projects   located within existing King Soopers grocery stores.

Mount Saint Vincent Home

After three years of planning and soliciting the aid of subcontractors and suppliers, three new wood framed buildings were added to this children’s home, school and day treatment center.

Each new building contains 12 sleeping rooms, a kitchen, parlor, a central living area with high clerestory windows, a restroom, office space and 2 quiet rooms.

The use of multi-colored finishes creates a warm atmosphere.  All drywall  partitions in the quiet rooms were constructed of impact resistant drywall, backed by 1/2” plywood.

A large number of firms joined the Saunders team in constructing the campus, i.e. 3 electrical contractors, 3 plumbing contractors, etc., which significantly increased our coordination role.  All told, over $800,000 of the $1.2 million project was donated in time and materials for this project.

St. Andrew United Methodist Church

This two-story worship facility sits on a 16 acre site in Highlands Ranch.  The first phase of the project consisted of a sanctuary, education area, and administration / office space.  The upper level houses the sanctuary / worship center, choir / music practice areas, classrooms, and administrative offices.  The lower level includes over 30 rooms including classrooms, youth meeting rooms, administration, restrooms, kitchen area, and daycare programming facilities.

Faith Bible Chapel Sanctuary; Fellowship Hall

The Family Worship Center is an inspiring addition to the Faith Bible campus.  The exterior of the $11.8 million, two story, 76,000 s.f. facility is constructed with brick, cast stone and glass.  The main public elevation is highlighted with a 150 foot long curved waterwall.  The facility houses a state of the art, 34,000 s.f., 2,600 seat, multi-media performance sanctuary; a 22,000 s.f., two story fellowship hall with food service facilities; ten classrooms; and a nursery.  Since the sanctuary is intended to serve Faith Bible chapel as a video and audio production studio, the mechanical system and building elements were designed to provide superior sound and lighting qualities.
