Providence/Swedish Organ Transplant Center

Lewis built out a 20,546 square foot tenant improvement for Swedish Medical Center at the First Hill Medical Pavilion. This project required a high level of organization throughout construction to coordinate the work the renovation and expansion of the building, and to avoid disruption to medical lab tenants who stayed operational through the project.

North Hills Wellness Center

Pankow provided design-build services for the County of Los Angeles North Hills Wellness Center. Scope of work included design and construction of a new 13,323 SF single-story facility comprised 9 exam rooms, 4 dental rooms, 4 laboratories, 4 clinician offices, 2 nurse’s stations as well as a special procedure room, psychiatrist’s office, pharmaceutical dispensary, 3 counseling offices, 2 optometry offices, retail store and two health education and training rooms.

Meridian Center for Health

Lewis constructed a new 44,800 square foot, two-story freestanding medical, dental, and human services clinic in North Seattle for NeighborCare, a non-profit care provider. Facilities include 14 exam rooms, 12 dental operatories, a pharmacy, a laboratory, conference rooms, and a demonstration kitchen used to teach healthy cooking. The active campus includes an existing King County clinic alongside the new building. The project is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification.

Little Company of Mary

3-story Green Globes certified medical office building with basement that includes state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center with MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, mammography and X-ray services. As well as nurses station, trauma unit, exam rooms, two level open lobby with registration and patient pharmacy.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

Lewis has been onsite continuously from 1999 to present at one of the world’s leading cancer research centers. Examples of Lewis’ hundreds of projects include a cGMP cell processing facility with clean room, a BSL-3 suite, a quality control room, and many other laboratory, office, and support spaces. Individual projects range up to 90,000 square feet.

Denver Health and Hospitality Authority Peri-Operative Remodel

With 25 percent of all Denver residents receiving their care at this facility, completing this complex, phased renovation was no easy task. This project required a CM/GC with industry-best methods for infection control to ensure the work was completed with patient safety as the number one priority.

The original facility was built in 1975 and no longer met the growing demands and needs of Denver Health. All of the construction work was completed while the Hospital remained operational.

Phase 1: New Surgery Staff Support

This phase encompasses approximately 3,379 square feet of remodeled space to support the surgery staff and includes locker rooms, lounges, office and conference room.

Phase 2: New 17 Station Post-anesthesia Care Unit & Surgery Support

This phase encompasses approximately 5,500 square feet of remodeled space including support rooms that allow observation of multiple patients at one time.

Phase 3: New Outpatient Gastrointestinal & 20 Pre-operative Stations

This phase encompasses approximately 8,285 square feet of remodeled space to a new Outpatient Gas-trointestinal Suite and Pre-operative area. Additionally, the phase included support rooms and two new inpatient rooms.

CPMC/Sutter Health Cathedral Hill Hospital

Located in San Francisco on the cross streets of Van Ness Ave and Geary Street, the CPMC/Sutter hospital project is a new replacement hospital that houses both an Acute Care Center and a Women’s and Children’s Center. This project is one of the first OSHPD projects to use a Lean Construction delivery process and a Phased OSHPD Submittal Process to accelerate and improve the agency approval process. The team is using 3-D modeling programs with an integrated project delivery team, to fully coordinate all components and systems into the building to allow construction to take place with minimum disruption caused by constructability issues. The Target Value Design process has driven down overall projected project costs by >18%.

This project is one of the first large hospital projects using Lean Construction Delivery with a Fully Integrated Project Delivery Team. Pankow is a Core Team member and the Structural Concrete Trade Partner on this project. The general Contractor is Herrero Boldt.

CPMC Van Ness Medical Office Building

Located in San Francisco on the cross streets of Van Ness Ave and Geary Street, the CPMC/Sutter Van Ness Medical Office Project is a new MOB that will house both CPMC departments and private physicians. This project is one of the first OSHPD 3 projects to use a Lean Construction delivery process to create a truly collaborative team approach. Currently in the design and preconstruction phase, the team is using 3-D building information modeling programs to fully coordinate all design disciplines which will translate into a construction phase with efficient flow and minimized constructability issues.

Children’s Hospital South Campus

Children’s Hospital Colorado sought to provide comprehensive healthcare services to children residing the South Metro Denver to meet ever-growing demands. The new South Campus is a 182,000 square foot facility provides both in-patient and out-patient care. The design of the building takes its aesthetic cues from their main campus in Aurora.

The South Campus facility includes: Inpatient Care, Outpatient Clinics, 24/7 Urgent Care with 22 exam rooms, Sports Medicine Program, Surgery Center with four operating rooms, Infusion Center, Laboratory Services, Imaging Services and Diagnostic Services. In addition, the facility features a family hospitality area, play areas for patients and siblings, a cafeteria/coffee shop and conference rooms.

Kaiser Cerritos Medical Office Building

Pankow and its design partners successfully renovated a quality healthcare facility for Kaiser’s community-at-large in Cerritos, California. With spacious interiors and abundant natural light, this two-story, 50,000-square-foot medical office building now offers 33 provider offices including Adult Primary Care, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics/Gynecology as well as ancillary support including pharmacy, blood draw, and general radiology – all with convenient underground parking. The team was thrilled to serve Kaiser on this exciting project.
