The Numen Lumen Pavilion receives its name from this university’s historic motto, a Latin phrase for “spiritual light” and “intellectual light.” The multi-faith center is a place for prayer, meditation and reflection and is appropriately located in the heart of the campus. Affirming the university’s commitment to the development of mind, body and spirit and respect for differing religious and spiritual traditions, the center will encourage campus dialogue and promote interfaith collaboration.
Many of the center’s eco-friendly features were selected by the student body and faculty. The project has achieved 98% waste recovery by keeping construction and demolition debris to minimal levels and diverting tons of waste from the landfills.
The two-story building in Elon’s Academic Village features a circular sacred space adjoined by a multipurpose room, meditation room, classroom, meeting and study rooms, and offices of the Vera Richardson Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life and the Center for the Study of Religion, Culture and Society. An outdoor meditation garden is located between the Numen Lumen Pavilion and the adjacent Gray Pavilion.

Saunders work for Gambro-COBE first began in 1992. Our partnership approach has been key to our long term relationship.
1201 Addition
Serving as the new central mechanical plant to support the cleanroom assembly areas, the 2-story addition required relocation of existing boilers and chillers and installation of new equipment. It houses hot water and compressed air systems on the second floor and a chilled water system on the first floor. The high-bay warehouse has a 50-feet clear height to accommodate a sophisticated automated storage and retrieval system.
Phases 1, 2 and 3 Remodels
A structural steel mezzanine was created inside the existing central building as well as additional office space. A new mechanical system using chilled water, boilers, and HVAC units were installed. A 10,000 s.f. kitchen and cafeteria were added to the facility. The corporate offices, conference rooms and the light manufacturing and assembly areas were remodeled. The manufacturing area was retrofitted with 20,000 s.f. of ESP flooring. Work on all three phases was further broken down by section so that specific groups of personnel could be relocated upon completion.
Unique features are abundant throughout this communications firm, located on the 32nd floor of the Equitable Building in downtown Atlanta. Mechoshades, zodiac counter tops, a custom reception bench made from poured glass terrazzo and hand inlays, 3-Form panel feature walls, frameless doors with wood jambs, Herculite glass doors, full glass office fronts and several sidelights adorn this space. Extremely high end finishes include Bamboo wood flooring and several various types of fabric wall coverings. The lighting package is a focal point for the entire projects and includes exotic sconces, pendants, down lights, track lighting and cove lighting to accentuate this exquisite new headquarters for McRae Communications.
The Hampton Hall Social Clubhouse is a major triumph as it represents another in a long line of repeat projects for Toll Brothers. Special features include function rooms that can be separated by a folding partition, a complete commercial kitchen that allows the residents to utilize a catering service or a complete banquet prepared on the premises, a Grille and Lanai area with vaulted ceilings, stained exposed wood trusses, a center tower to let exterior light in, and shutters and screens to give the residents the feel of the outdoors without any of the drawbacks.
Krusinski Construction Company was contracted to build a 32,000-square-foot, two-story building that would accommodate a Sherman Hospital Immediate Care facility on the first floor and offices for a law firm and other professional tenants on the second floor. The different tenant requirements imposed divergent criteria for heating, ventilating and cooling, structural engineering and building access. To solve the building access problem, two separate entrances with adjacent parking areas convenient to both lobbies were created. To solve the HVAC requirements, two separate, low-profile roof HVAC units, controlled by a single computerized building automation system were installed, and to solve the different structural needs, a 12-inch slab with steel reinforcement was poured under the scanner room.
The building itself consists of a two-story medical office constructed on a 3.2-acre site. The immediate care facility includes imaging areas with private gowning rooms, waiting areas, physical therapy facility, collaborative nurse’s station, triage area and treatment-specific exam rooms.
Krusinski Construction Company’s client, Moser Enterprise wanted to build a three-story office building that would house its new corporate offices. The building was to be constructed on an in-fill site surrounded by retail businesses and homes. In addition to the impact the daily construction activities would have on the nearby businesses and neighbors, Krusinski also faced the challenge of where to store materials. The new facility would occupy the entire site and left no room for stored materials. To address this issue, materials were stored off-site and trucked load-by-load to the site as needed. To maintain a good relationship with neighboring businesses and residents, a newsletter containing information about closures, safety issues and upcoming activities was created and hand delivered every month.
