Seattle’s finest hotel is now open, with 149 guest rooms and stunning common areas including a fitness center and spa with an outdoor pool and hot tub, six meeting rooms, and a ballroom. Topping the 21 story building are 36 residences. Residents benefit from all of the hotel’s services and public facilities, from room service to valet parking. Lewis built all of the home interiors, including four totally-unique owner-designed units built by our Holyoke Fine Homes group.
Lewis constructed a 74,000 square foot building that houses 11 science labs, several classrooms, a 200-person lecture hall, and faculty offices at the center of the active UW Bothell campus. Specialized areas include a motion-capture lab and a “collaboratory” that enables group learning. The project was a case study in maximizing integrated teaming and Lean within Washington’s GC/CM contracting law. Project elements that enabled timely design and construction included: shared goals between Lewis, the UW, and the design team, working together continually and without “silos” , fully leveraging BIM to expedite design and quality construction; and last-planner scheduling.
Originally built in 1910 for industrial use, the Culver Building was completely renovated by Lewis in 2012. Work included adding a penthouse, roof deck, new glazing systems, elevator, restrooms, and HVAC system. The LEED Silver space largely consists of unique meeting areas and features an open concept to encourage collaborative teamwork. Hoteling stations, high-tech conferencing rooms, informal huddle spaces and outdoor meeting spaces promote connectivity and innovation.
Lewis built these two LEED Gold certified apartment buildings. Skybox is a six-story, 94,000 square foot building which features 76 units, ranging from one bedroom to five bedrooms. Courtside is a 64,000 square foot, five-story apartment building which houses 47 living units and includes ground floor retail. Sustainable features include energy-efficient appliances and windows, low-VOC products, low-flow plumbing fixtures, occupancy sensors in common areas, and an eco-roof which retains and cleans storm water.
Lewis completed this design/build project that provides Comcast with a consolidated operations center to service their customers in the greater Portland metro area. The 87,000 square foot, two-story, office and warehouse building is situated on a 10-acre site. Sitework included new ADA parking, concrete walkways and stairs, paving, steel canopies, site fencing and a new pole climbing yard.
The Center Building was renovated by Lewis in multiple phases to create a modern new learning commons and student union the Center for Learning and Student Success. In addition to a new open and airy learning commons, the CLASS project updated the food services area, replaced the out-of-date bookstore with a new Titan Store, and created a new user-friendly plaza, which greatly improved access in and around the building. Energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems contributed to the project’s LEED Silver certification goal.
Lewis built this retreat and training center originally for Washington Mutual, plus a major recent addition to facilitate ongoing use as a premier event center and hotel. The original facility includes 110 guest suites, meeting rooms, an auditorium, dining, a boardroom, lanais, and landscaping with water features that evoke a natural environment. Lewis also rehabilitated a major wetland which was then deeded to the City of SeaTac. Recently, Lewis built an addition of 63 guest rooms and renovated existing space to include a new spa, conference room suite, and steam room.
Lewis has built out several retail spaces at this high-end retail center, including: John Howie Steak (our fifth restaurant for this prominent local chef/restauranteur); Artisanal, which was a buildout of two restaurants; a brasserie with wine bar; and a pizzeria. Other projects have included Vovito Caffe & Gelato, a new clothing store for David Lawrence, and a buildout of two shell spaces to make them immediately usable for prospective tenants.
Lewis recently completed this project to provide Argyle with a world-class tasting facility, blending the winery’s deep history in the region with modern design elements. Located adjacent to Oregon 99W, the winery is among the busiest wine tasting venues in the state. The transformative 2.5 acre project was completed in seven months and includes a new entry pavilion, expansive gardens, additional parking for guests, and extensive renovations of the existing buildings on site. The renovation also included a climate-controlled library to showcase more than 4,000 bottles.
