Meridian Center for Health

Lewis constructed a new 44,800 square foot, two-story freestanding medical, dental, and human services clinic in North Seattle for NeighborCare, a non-profit care provider. Facilities include 14 exam rooms, 12 dental operatories, a pharmacy, a laboratory, conference rooms, and a demonstration kitchen used to teach healthy cooking. The active campus includes an existing King County clinic alongside the new building. The project is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification.

Lakeside School, Multiple Projects

Lewis recently completed five years of projects at Seattle’s premier private school. The final phase was the new Paul G. Allen Athletics Center, a 63,535 square foot addition with a gym seating 800, sports medicine, a weight room, locker rooms, and rooftop photovoltaics. Prior to this project, Lewis completed the following work on campus: the renovation and expansion of Allen-Gates Hall (named after the Microsoft founders, who first met at Lakeside), including science classrooms; the historic renovation of Bliss Hall, with seismic, restoration, and MEP; and smaller renovations to Moore and Fix Halls.

Insitu

Situated on the banks of the Columbia River, this project created light industrial space and offices for Boeing subsidiary, Insitu. The 125,000 square foot building is composed of four distinct spaces including a warehouse, manufacturing facility, office space and a research and testing area. Unique to the facility are chambers that allow for aircraft engine testing on-site. The project is LEED Silver certified and sustainable features include a green roof entry canopy, reclaimed lumber finishes, and daylighting strategies.

Garfield High School Gymnasium & Field

Lewis extensively restored and updated this high school, a Seattle landmark since 1923. This included a new free-standing athletic and performing arts building. The gymnasium includes 14 basketball hoops, bleachers with 1,827 seats, and gymnastic, wrestling, and volleyball equipment. Other areas include locker rooms, a weight room, a training room, and a Teen Life Center (also with a gym) that is run by the City of Seattle. Outdoors, the project included a synthetic turf football/soccer field with grandstand, a track, and facilities for shot put, pole vault, long jump, and high jump.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

Lewis has been onsite continuously from 1999 to present at one of the world’s leading cancer research centers. Examples of Lewis’ hundreds of projects include a cGMP cell processing facility with clean room, a BSL-3 suite, a quality control room, and many other laboratory, office, and support spaces. Individual projects range up to 90,000 square feet.

Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences

Seattle’s finest hotel is now open, with 149 guest rooms and stunning common areas including a fitness center and spa with an outdoor pool and hot tub, six meeting rooms, and a ballroom. Topping the 21 story building are 36 residences. Residents benefit from all of the hotel’s services and public facilities, from room service to valet parking. Lewis built all of the home interiors, including four totally-unique owner-designed units built by our Holyoke Fine Homes group.

Discovery Hall

Lewis constructed a 74,000 square foot building that houses 11 science labs, several classrooms, a 200-person lecture hall, and faculty offices at the center of the active UW Bothell campus. Specialized areas include a motion-capture lab and a “collaboratory” that enables group learning. The project was a case study in maximizing integrated teaming and Lean within Washington’s GC/CM contracting law. Project elements that enabled timely design and construction included: shared goals between Lewis, the UW, and the design team, working together continually and without “silos” , fully leveraging BIM to expedite design and quality construction; and last-planner scheduling.

Cedarbrook

Lewis built this retreat and training center originally for Washington Mutual, plus a major recent addition to facilitate ongoing use as a premier event center and hotel. The original facility includes 110 guest suites, meeting rooms, an auditorium, dining, a boardroom, lanais, and landscaping with water features that evoke a natural environment. Lewis also rehabilitated a major wetland which was then deeded to the City of SeaTac. Recently, Lewis built an addition of 63 guest rooms and renovated existing space to include a new spa, conference room suite, and steam room.

Bravern Shops

Lewis has built out several retail spaces at this high-end retail center, including: John Howie Steak (our fifth restaurant for this prominent local chef/restauranteur); Artisanal, which was a buildout of two restaurants; a brasserie with wine bar; and a pizzeria. Other projects have included Vovito Caffe & Gelato, a new clothing store for David Lawrence, and a buildout of two shell spaces to make them immediately usable for prospective tenants.

PK Park

In two phases, Lewis built a new baseball park for University of Oregon and the Eugene Emeralds. Phase I consisted of the demolition of a segment of Autzen Stadium’s parking lot, excavation and grading of the baseball field, FieldTurf installation, bullpens, perimeter walls, light and video board structures and temporary dugouts. Phase II construction included the main seating bowl with over 2,500 individual seats, entry plaza and architectural pylons, locker rooms, a team clubhouse, premium seating suites, exposed wood roof canopy, concessions areas, and large public restrooms.
