The first large-scale residence hall in the country to achieve LEED NC Platinum certification, Ackerman Hall houses 336 students and provides community areas, study rooms, faculty offices, academic support services, small classroom space and two apartments. The live/learn complex is projected to reduce energy consumption by 35% and employs sustainable features such as a 30,000 gallon rainwater harvesting system, photovoltaic arrays and a solar wall for building heating and cooling.
